All of the ones I have seen were always working, no matter the age. Could be corrosion on the contacts?

I've never even heard of this...

If mine stopped working i'd be pretty upset. I love that little digital clock. It's in the perfect spot, and everyone is always like "wow.."

What contacts would that be? I mean where?

The clock is built into the circuit board that makes up the cluster and draws its power from the board. But within this board is a number of contacts. Where the main power comes into the board at the large connector, where the clock plugs into the board, also where the controls on the dash meet the clock, etc. It does not take too much to remove the cluster (about 6 screws. and a couple of connectors, IIRC). I would do that and just first pull all the connectors, clean them with a pencil eraser and put tuner cleaner or LPS1 on them, and put it all back together and see if it works. Look for corrosion while you are at it.

If anything this exercise would be good practice for if you find one at a wrecking yard you can more quickly pull it out, and replace your old one.

Good luck.
