Finally got the Escort rims with the new rubber on the Terc. I will take a better shot in the day but they sure make the Tercel look more durable. They are 195/75/14 Cooper Discoverer Radial LT's. They are made from thicker material too, 6 mil I think... They sure work better than my balding all-seasons .
Can you say what year Escort those are from? Using the Tercel lug nuts?
Those Coopers ought to get you thru some sticky stuff.
I rebuilt a couple of front fenders that were about as bad as that one. Had the paint...fiberglass...bondo around vs paying at least $150 for 2 fenders and waiting a good while to get them. It was more work than I expected, but the job is holding OK.

I am just going to get another Tercel with no rust!!! That way I can have a good Tercel and beater Tercel. I did buy some fender covers which I will try on this tercel to 'hide' the rust. Then I am gonna practice the Tremclad paint job on it.
The rims are off a 92-95 escort. They have the same bolt pattern and offsets. I got them from a wrecker for $25 each...
No problem with the clearance. One of my mudflaps was loose so it was rubbing a bit. i just took it off and it is all good.

Don't keep any of your Tercs as beaters!!!! They are too nice for that!!!! Beater cars should be FORDS, any most American cars.... You should work on this one!!!!
I got them installed at 'Tire Pro inc". I am not sure if it is a chain but they have a shop in Grande Prairie, Ab. They were pretty good. I asked for 15% off and they gave it to me .
Here are the goods on the tire:
Name Discoverer Radial LT
Size / Service Descr. LT195/75R14
Load Range C
Sidewall OWL
Approved Rim Width 5 - 6
Meas. Rim Width 5.5
Section Width 7.5
Overall Diam. 26
Tread Width 5.28
Max Load 1435
Tread Depth 16.5
When going straight the rub in the last 10% of the wheel turn and about 30% if going over bumps. Once I get the new shocks in that will hopefully reduce that second %.
Hey SirNik83, Do you use biodesiel in that MB of yours?

My Escort steel rims were from around the same yr and were $15 each. Went with steel because I put them on myself and alum is a no-no with DIY tire mounting. Think you will find that you've gained maybe 1" in track width?

The MB doesn't get biodiesel very much. I read the there can be seal issues in the pump, and my engine is OLD, 360k on her. so i'm kinda scared to try it on a long term basis. I did buy another injection pump to rebuild so i can upgrade the seals. for the mean time i'm running good old #2.
but about ever 6 months i strap a 1 gallon jug under the hood and fill it with biodiesel and sea-foam. I let it run on that for a while, then drive it around the neighborhood and rev it up and it pukes black smoke. when it is all said and done its about 25% quieter and runs a lot better. its like getting its colon cleaned... LOL
My first car was a Tercel, and I'm still driving a Tercel, some people say I need an Intervention.

Just run 10-20% biodiesel in that sucker all the time. Performance, mileage and internal engine cleanliness should all improve. It did for me. I have heard of no issues with seals if the Biodiesel use is kept low like that...
I am going to put my spare tire on the roof rack too (Once I find a low-profile gutter roof rack). I think I am going to get a regular steel wheel and a used tire instead of another Escort rim and tire. If I had the time I have always wanted to mount the spare to the outside of the hatch and put some super-powered piston things to hold the hatch up. Once of those blazer-style swinging steel holders would be pretty funny too.
So what are you going to put in your spare tire hole? Subwoofer? Toolkit? Emergency supplies? Weed?
