86 tercel wagon needs head gasket runs has a real good body and interior and new tires would not take much to fix up or will part out if you need parts

Where you been shonuff? I already posted this in complete cars for sale. Oh well....
I am surprised it's not gone yet. If it was closer it would be all mine.

Re: Craigslist 86 SR5 4X4 Tennessee $650
I drove up to look at this car, it's about 20 miles north of Nashville. It's a decent car, he did have it advertised at $550. There was coolant in the oil. He thought maybe the head had warped, but when I talked with him this last week, he had taken the head off and said both the head and block were smooth, probably just needed a head gasket.....and I understood he was going to put one on it. The paint is faded, has a dent in the hood and in the hatch, some rust on the drivers side windshield pillar under where the windshield molding would be. One rear tail light is broken, along with one of the parking lights under the front bumper. Overall, though, it's a pretty nice Terc. Interior isn't bad, just DIRTY...needs a STRONG cleaning. Newer tires with most of the tread, new front axles, new "used" transmission, new brakes, and I can't remember what else he told me he'd done to it . He posted here on the forum but I can't remember what his ID was. I'd love to have it, but just not in the budget right now.

This is true.......however mine isn't a "factory" SR5, although I've added everything that makes it an SR5, except the wide moldings...and I have them. I would really like to find a nice 87 SR5 to have as a daily driver. Maybe one day it'll turn up somewhere close to home !

Re: Craigslist 86 SR5 4X4 Tennessee $650
Hey splatterdog, there's a complete cars for sale section?! I really have been out of the loop. Well I've been super buisy this summer doing some remodeling work, and working on several other peoples cars and still not mine! I still need to do some front end stuff (havent even had a chance to check out that noise yet!) and swap the engine form my parts car, but I did buy a truck so hauling parts and parts cars around will be easier. Its a 77 Ford F-350 dually flatbed with a manual hydrolic hoist on the bed, great for engines, and a 460 with a holly 4 bbl and 4" exhaust (almost dual exhaust, two 3.5"? pipes from the headers to the muffler, and one 4" out the side. Say hello to 5 MPG baby! Its got a 4 speed with a GRANNY 1st, its even hard not to chirp those dualls starting out in second gear!splatterdog wrote:Where you been shonuff? Looks like we think alike. I have a 76 F250 crewcab with a 460 in my fleet.

Re: Craigslist 86 SR5 4X4 Tennessee $650
Great minds huh? I do love the 460, tons of power, but my cousin says it'll start smoking at 100K (mine has 60K on a rebuild) was thinking of converting to diesel. Were putting a 351M in my 84 F150, but I'm honestly a bit hesitant since I've had such good luck with the 300-6, and I'm a bit wary of ford V-8's, but its a deal too good to pass up. I do love the body on the 70's fords though, nothing says truck like a full width hood and that great wide grill with round headlights, classic. Trucks just don’t look like trucks anymore.
Hey I was going to say there is a 85 wagon (not sure if its 4wd) that just showed up at the Rosemount U-Pull, not sure if that’s close to you, I'll probably check it out tomorrow.
