I got a little air compressor just today, its small, noisy and takes forever between cycles, but it only cost $25! the guy i bought it off said he purchased some parts for it (some stuff is worn and thats the primary cause of all the noise and slow pumping) but he misplaced them, but he'll give them to me as soon as he finds them.
not too bad, should be good enough to run my air ratchet and my impact for short bursts.

just for FYI if you plan on running a lot of air tools. Invest in a good oiled.. Not oiless air compressor and plan to pay $300- $500 for a good one new.
to tell the difference is easy. oiled compressors have a compressor driven by an belt connected to a seperate motor. oiless are usually under some pretty plastic housing and are all in one units.
benifits of Oiled
fill faster
last way longer
quieter.... or at less run for much shorter time between cycles so they are less annoying.
Usually higher CFM output for same motor size...
