Parting out 83 tercel sr5 4wd wagon

Post by donaldc »

I have an 83 tercel 4wd wagon that I've decided to part out. The engine has approximately 80k on it. The car ran fine until one day it started spark knocking on cylinder 3 and I came to conclusion that the engine needs a head gasket. The car has many newer parts such as the radiator, alternator, voltage regulator, waterpump, starter, and many other parts. The transmission works great, the interior is in really good condition other than the drivers seat. The inclinometer works great. Email me and let me know what you need. I take paypal. Thank you,

Why part it out over a head gasket????
I just finished putting a new gasket on mine this weekend. Not as easy as changing a tire but with the FSM for torques and sequences it was fairly easy. Cost me $30 for the gasket and $40 to have the head checked at the machine shop besides the oil and crap like that thats all there is to it. Beater or not if ya gonna run a car this old ya gotta learn to repair.

I'd second that...low miles...little rust?

Changing the head gasket is not a big deal to me. I just don't have time to mess with it and the body has quite a bit of rust. But, now I have a local guy who says he's interested in the entire car. He's supposed to let me know in the next few days. Thanks,

I dont know where "local" is but I wish I was there so I could save the Turtle from a part out or new ownership by a non-believer.
