Got tired of my dang terc overheating going up steep highway passes. So finally broke down and bought a new rad. Bought a ready-rad two core replacement. It is a GREAT radiator. I'm really happy with it. In the pics below, you can see how much thicker it is than my beat up old Koyo one. I highly recommend this rad as a upgrade/replacement. I noticed a massive difference right away.

1981 Tercel rad
The rad I WAS using (until about 2 hours ago)
The other rad I have (its now in my car)
I forgot I had the stupid thing until I saw your post.
The single-core has much denser fins. The dual-core is less dense but it has twice the capacity for fluid. As such it heat up much slower and seems to keep things much cooler.

Wicked, thanks for all the rad info! My Terc has never overheated but I have watched the indicator rise past the middle mark and the fan kick on on really hot days. One Terc at the local junkyard looks like it has a 'better' rad than mine so I'll go check it out. I think it might be wider.
