Question about O2 sensor
If I were to get a weber carb for my tercel would I even need an O2 sensor? What does the the O2 sensor control anyway on a carbed engine?

right now i have the stock carbs, i think my O2 sensor is bad. The car seems to still get good mpg. if i dont get a new one will that cause any problems in the future? is there anything that I can do to my stock carb so that it doesnt need to use the O2 sensor? in the next few months i hope to buy a weber carb for it.

It is supposed to fine tune the fuel mix....I replaced mine but saw no mpg gain. But then my EGR is non-functiioning due to a bad modulator. I'd get the EGR working right before I'd mess with the O2.

[what does the O2 sensor control on the carb?]
The O2 sensor sends a siganal to the CPU which sends a signal to the EBCV (Electronic Air Bleed Control Valve) The EBCV is mounted on the right fender near the vacuum switches A & B . It allows air to be introduced to the slow jet and the primary main nozzle well areas. It aids in leaning out the air/fuel ratio under certain conditions.
