Air bubbles in fuel line
Air bubbles in fuel line
My ‘86 wagon has been running great for a few months now, but all of a sudden it started stumbling badly on a 70 mile trip. Barely made it back. I replaced the fuel filter and put the rebuilt carb that I’ve been meaning to install on it. Ran great for a couple days then stumbled badly again. I hooked up an electric pump to hose going to the fuel filter just to have a look and there are a whole lot of tiny air bubbles coming from fuel line. Any suggestions? All the rubber hoses in the fuel system are new, fuel tank, filter, fuel pump, carb - all new.

Re: Air bubbles in fuel line
My car generally runs well but I noticed bubbles at the fuel filter too, and asked here on the forum about it. Here is that thread:

Basically, it seems like the bubbles are not due to sucking air in the system. It might be due to agitation of the fuel as it passes through the fuel filter? I don't know.
