Hey Tom, REST IN PEACE buddy! I am sorry we had our differences and I hope God is taking care of you now.ARCHINSTL wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2016 11:01 pm Today, while under the weather and feeling sorry for myself, watched In The Line of Duty - Blaze of Glory, based on a true Chicago crime spree in the 1990's by a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, Jeff and Jill Erickson. This was the first film made on the topic and starred Bradley Whitford. It pretty much hews to the facts of the case, as far as the couple's story goes.
No Wiki article, but http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119363/
The bad guy specializes in stealing '80s J-tin and using them as escape cars before abandoning them - this was factual.
Anyway, his last getaway car which leads to his apprehension appears here:

Great way to look for movie Tercel 4wds is to see ones at IMCDB with search criteria AL25:
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make ... L25&page=1
There are at least 5 pages of movie AL25:s. Keep your eyes open for interesting Tercel 4wd's. This one is especially interesting for me although year of manufacture is not correct:

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
it seems it has been a while since anyone reported a movie sighting, but I saw one last night:
Sunshine Cleaning: with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt. 2009 with some big name talent. story is about two down on their luck sisters in Am that have a lot of childhood family trauma to overcome and start a cleaning business. the main character played by Amy Adams drives a dull grey DLX, but appears to have SR5 seats (1985), but has the 4wd badge on the grill. It is kind of a difficult moving to watch (it is more of a downer chic flick, my wife and visiting daughter wanted to see it on Amazon prime). but it has a decent ending. the Tercel4wd is on screen a lot, though it plays only a supporting role. odd I could not find any pictures of it in any online pictures of the film. I found it fun to watch only because of the Tercel in it.

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
that is it!
it appears to be a 4wd, but has the DLX trim, AND SR5 seats. not much other details could be determined despite it being prominently shown through out the movie.

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
Breaking Bad was mentioned somewhere in the previous 12 pages but I didn't see these photos posted. The Tercel was prominent in several episodes because a lead actor was driving it.
Trivia department: can someone explain why this apparently 4wd Tercel has the fuel fill on the left side? My 1983 4wd Tercel has the fuel fill on the right side. And somewhere else on the forum it was pointed out that the 2wd versions have the fuel fill on the left side as in these photos. Maybe they just stuck a 4wd front grill on this car.
More trivia: I'm wondering if the car color in these photos is factory. I don't recall seeing this color on other Tercels. I have the impression it is a repaint. The wheels and wheel covers are painted black; I don't know if they are original type for a 1986 model.

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
They had multiple cars both 2wd and 4wd as they do in big movies incase one breaks down a days filming isn't ruined so they decided to make them both look 4wd but the problem with the gas tank door is the giveaway as you noticed. https://jalopnik.com/i-drove-jesse-pinm ... 1388295896 heres a fun peice and comments about one of the cars.

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
Mattel, good point about movie productions sometimes using more than one vehicle to represent the same vehicle through the full course of filming. I hadn't thought of that in this case. So when collectors later buy these movie cars (the ones that aren't wrecked), which one are they getting, which one is the "real" movie car? Ha.
Also in the Breaking Bad series, I think I remember reading that more than one vehicle was used to represent Jimmy McGill's earlier car, before he changed his name to Saul Goodman. The car was a lackluster yellow 1998 Suzuki Esteem, conspicuous for having a right rear door in brown primer color. This was in an early phase of Jimmy's legal career.
I've also read that the iconic Mad Max/Road Warrior car was represented by more than one vehicle through the course of those movies.
