When it warms up, I think I'll use some kind of lube on ALL of the joints; after all, they've been moving for 27 years now.

Yeah still working as of 1-30-2017. Apparently this is a not uncommon problem on various older cars. It would be nice if the ball joint bushing parts could be more standardized so new replacements that fit correctly aren't so difficult to find.

As of June 2024 my wiper linkage repair is holding up. But I spend most of my time in a dry climate where the wipers don't get used that much.
