Thank you all again.
I never knew that R-Renaults were also sold in the states. You have owned some interesting cars then rer233. As a bonus, here are some additional pictures from same car meetings that may be interesting to you. If you look them precisely, you may see some cars that you've just mentioned.
And yes Mattel, I do get some positive comments. Mainly other participants are glad that I have preserved a car model that is has nearly disappeared from Finnish roads and was sold originally in small numbers. But some are also impressed when they hear about 4wd system of Tercel.
And I could indeed check the movie car wranger thing. They don't do lots of films in Finland but who knows what will show up. Wow, 1000$ + having your car in a nationwide advert sounds really cool. Do you have a clip of that ad somewhere in youtube for example?

Nordical25-
Yep- red car next to your Tercel is an R8. Also, I forgot to mention, I've also had a bunch of LeCars (R5s.) Never had a R5 Turbo tho- too cheap! In fact, I was driving LeCars when I first got into Tercel Wagons. Man, what a difference in parts availability- it got to the point where I was having problems finding oil filters for my LeCars!

Hey Nordic, here are the only two I could find they are just TV Ad's. The others were movies were the car was in the background.
I've seen some Nordic noir tv series that we get here in Australia that are filmed in Finland. You should sign your car up!

You spotted correct the R8 rer233. In another picture there is bright red Renault R12 parked right behind my Tercel. Oh, they imported even R5 to U.S. I can understand that part availability is a bit harder with LeCars because they are not than common in U.S.A. Here you can still get parts for them because we are quite close to France. But yes, Tercel spare part availability is still better even here although some Tercel parts are getting bit more challenging to find now.
Thank you for the tip Mattel. I did google these kind of services and I did find one such service from here. Maybe I could sign up my BEA to that during next season. I am also happy that your Corolla has made it to TV commercials. And you know that you kept it really well if it makes into national Toyota ad.

Re: 1987 Tercel 4wd project
Year 2023 is completed and 2024 is about to start. I managed to found front wind deflectors to BEA. I will see how they work out next summer.
I will put some side decals to BEA and continue tidying small details in both BEA & BHP during 2024. I have managed to buy many different US & European Tercel emblems from several sources and I will repaint also them next year. And there might be coming an addition to my Tercel 4wd fleet, we will see that during spring 2024.

Beautiful car!

Re: 1987 Tercel 4wd project
It is time to do first post of the 1987 Tercel season. I have been quite busy this year due to various things. Luckily, I still had some time to put to these wagons too.
Our local car club made an exhibition of Japanese cars. My restored BHP was chosen to that exhibition. It will be on display at least during this summer.
I have also continued to finish BEA. I have started to clean engine bay and to do last finishing touches. My goal is to inspect this car this year and to receive historical vehicle status for this car. They require here that car is basically intact and looks enough original. Therefore it will gain last finishing touches this summer. It will hopefully receive soon decal artwork used in Swedish 1988 4wd Tercels if everything goes as planned.
I will also see how this car will work by trying to complete historic car meeting route next weekend. It will be a 800km (500miles) roadtrip. It will be a great possibility to test how this car will work when it needs to. I have packed already some spare parts and I am a bit excited to see how it goes.

Re: 1987 Tercel 4wd project
It is time to do June update for my red 1987 ones. BHP is still on display, so I have been working mostly with BEA.
I have been putting finishing touches to the look of BEA due to closing antique vehicle inspection. The basic requirements are that vehicle should have mostly original OEM parts. Safety related updates and some single accessories from 1980's era are allowed, of course.
Therefore, BEA got Swedish 1988 rear quarter windows and Swedish 1988 Tercel stripes lately. They fit well to that car since 1987 Euro Tercel is basically identical with 1988 one. I did buy them from a helpful Tercel enthusiast from Sweden. I did also find during winter months a really good condition AE86/AL25 steering wheel. It was used in 1984-1986 AL25 models so it matches well the interior in my opinion.
Now this car has OEM look and it did pass antique car inspection today. Therefore, I am happy to announce that I have actually completed something.
I still need to open the BEA engine maybe one day, if I don't get HC's back to normal without bigger overhaul. We will see that during winter months. I still suspect minor leaks in brake booster. The RPM gauge shows small fluctuation when I press the brake pedal.
Therefore next focus will be BEA engine and finishing touches of BHP. I want BHP to look as original as possible due to that cars well documented look in the 1990's film.
I will also attend some car meetings with BEA during summer. I will maybe put some additional photos from this season to this thread.
Some guys from a Finnish film office were also looking cars for movie props. I offered BEA for them but it was not chosen for that job. Maybe better luck next time!
