Windshield trim tercel missing. Does any have?

Post by Esaus »

missing windshield trim
I just recently had the top long windshield trim blow off on my recently renovated tercel. I guess the trim tape i used was crap since they let go and the trim blew off. car is completely repainted. Took the windshield and everything off. Driven it almost 4000km and it let go just now.

Does anyone have spare windhield trim i could buy? I live in sweden. I can pay for shipping and such no problem.

Im missing the top trim and the passenger side corner that connects it to the side one.

I might take a walk on that stretch of road where it might have blown off. Its a larger road so its abit risky. Drove up and down 3 times and didnt see anything. Might be in the grass.
Would appreciate any help!!

Have no fear! The Tercel man is here. Happy days since i took a long walk down that road and found both pieces on the side of the road intact. They were a few metres apart. Well worth the sweaty walk next to alot of traffic. Hurray!

Any reccomendations for what glue or tape to use on those corner hook pieces so they wont blow off? I might add more glue to the trim itself so it wont come off again.

Hi Esaus, if you want to glue it forever: Sikaflex 221, if only "temporarily", water pump silicone glue is the way to go: https://www.biltema.fi/sv-fi/bilvard/bi ... 2000041863.

I am glad that you found your missing pieces. The very same happened lately to me. I think I will choose the gasket sealant because Sikaflex is too permanent. :D

I used the windshield glue that i glued the windshield with. I can cut it off with a razor if i need to remove it.

Windshield glue should be the best alternative.

I don't like to have too many kinds of sealants in garage so I added some gasket sealant between plastic trim and metal corner. But this is not the 100% correct way of course. But it does the job.
