Weber Air Filter

Post by Terbo4WD »

What air filters are people using on their Weber carbs? There doesn't seem to be very many options. The filter that came with my Weber (#99400.291) is deteriorating after a few months. I've never had a paper element get so bad that it starts developing holes, let alone a reusable washable style.

I just used the short air filter that came with my Weber kit and it was fine. I haven't heard of anyone else having theirs disintegrate but maybe yours is faulty for some reason. Can you post some pics of it?

Here is a photo. It's like this in various amounts around the filter.

I always buy 1 3/4 filters on eBay.
They typically only last me about 6 months to a year before they're completely clogged with crap. I've knocked em out several times and gotten pounds of dust and sand out of them.

It's frustrating they don't last very long. I might try a filter sock and see if that improves it any.
