Question about blower motor...

Post by T-Bone »

I was wondering how hard it is to remove the blower motor for the ac/heat. The SR5 that I am picking up had a mouse make a nest in it so I have to remove it and clean it out.

It's not too hard, although you have to remove the glove box to do it.
Once you've removed that, the blower motor for the heating system is easily accesible.

The only problem will be finding the correct size brushes for it. That was the problem I had last time...

I have replaced the brushes a couple of times in my blower motor. I seem to remember that the last time, I realized one might be able to remove the bottom of the blower motor and remove the brushes w/o removing the squirrel cage?

Brushes?

Never gone through brushes. Bearings, yes.

You can pull the motor without pulling the hole unit. I think it is easier to the pull the whole thing.
