Re: funny 1st gen tercel ad
That's a 1980 hatchback too, which is my favorite of the Tercels. The 1980 had slightly different light trim and the Tercel logo on the side compared to the 81-82. It looks like the rear strut towers rusted out completely (which was a recall issue for the 1st gens). I'm trying to figure out where they mounted that bar that supports the new shocks.

Re: funny 1st gen tercel ad
I think its just attached to the inner body. The strut towers rotting out is very common. All three of my first gens have different levels of concerning rot going on. I need to fix my yellow one as it is my track car (profile pic very out of date)Mark wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 10:15 am That's a 1980 hatchback too, which is my favorite of the Tercels. Also, the recall was for the control arms rotting out, which is still active to this day. The yellow car in my profile pic has the recall, but fortunately the arms are still solid. However, I did ask the dealer about it, and even if they did fail, theres nothing they or corporate can or will do about it since there aren't any replacement parts available.
