I do believe this brake conversion was finished, and his terc is his daily driver (I think) so it must've been a success

Or maybe not, could have been a disastrous failure. And it could be the reason we have not heard from him.

Perhaps we should start checking the hospitals. "do you have in your hospital guy we only know him as "leeblew", he drives an old Tercel, who made his own brakes, and it may have been the cause the accident and injury?"

Did you try just straight asking him "What calipers are you using?"

EDIT: If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself.

The calipers are off of the 1988-1989 ST165 Celica GT-Four/All-Trac (US)/Turbo 4WD (Canada).

Centric part numbers are 141.44114 and 141.44113, good luck!

Did you ask him directly? I actually happen to be the proud new owner of both of LeeBiews tercs as of earlier this year so I could probably confirm what are on it!

I did not, I went searching and found them by process of elimination. The triple triangle logo is Akebono, they make OEM brakes for a lot of cars, afterward it was finding which numbers on the caliper were pertinent to finding out what it is. What looks like an A043T or AO43T in the top right is actually AD43T with 25-14 being the rest of the identifying information.

They're probably a little rare, expensive, and powerful for most here (and you'd desperately need some rear brake upgrades to balance it), but if you can find out the rest of the hardware info I know I'd appreciate it. Specifically the rotors, hoses too if they're something specific/special.

nice work! Unfortunately that is something that is not likely to be found in a wrecking yard anytime soon. I have only seen one of those for sale once in many decades. the car is indeed rare.

I wonder if one can back check the part number to see if it was used on any other car, it would be really rare that a supplier makes up a caliper for one model of specialty car.

You can adapt anything to work with enough time and money, I was hoping for a bolt on up grade. you all will have to suffice with the MR2 brake up grade I wrote up in the repair guide section. the later first gen MR2 uses larger brakes, I have a set I got at the wrecking yard, but I have not seen what it will take to make them fit. I suspect there may be some shims/adapters required. I also have a set of rear disk brakes used on the MR2 which I think would be a good Tercel4wd up grade, but that too will take specially made mounting hardware, and perhaps some brakes or special cables to get the parking brake in them to work properly. likely the whole system would need the addition of a proportioning valve as well. all costly and time consuming undertakings.
