Hitch mod

Post by Smatters09 »

I have a question has anyone ever made or found a trailer hitch that fits these cars or that works with small modifications? I only ask cause my bumper isn't the strongest with the little hitch on the bumper bar I'd like to be have something strong to hook to when stuck or pulling somone else out thanks maybe message me if you have pics of yours with something that would work

You may just look for a custom off-road fabrication shop. There are a few around here and they seem to be all over the place. A rear bumper would be pretty simple for someone with knowledge to build as it's pretty square. This bumper is basically two peices of square tube welded together with some plate welded onto the sides.

Those are some badass bumpers -

Yaut, How did the car handle & go up hills with that extra weight on the rear? It's pretty sweet set up.

Thanks,

I like the ideas here.

Thanks Chris

Blank_Man,
The bike combined with the bike carrier was around 350-400 pounds. It was a little much but managable still. It brought a lot of weight off of the front of the car which made the steering a bit uncomfortable. Part of the problem is that my car is lifted in the rear with spring spacers with original springs instead of the taller, stiffer springs many people use so it sagged quite a bit. It defintely had an effect on power when going up hill but this car is actually an automatic and already has problems with hills as is.
