Alternator Identification

Post by battmrown »

I’ve recently had some charging issues. Classic ‘Charge’ and ‘Brake’ lights on, and then she full-on died on me one day. The battery is good, I put it on a foot charger and it fired right up, and held starting charge for over a month. No issues there.

I’m assuming it’s the alternator, but I’ve seen it mentioned that Mr T used 3 types of alternators on the Tercs. One with an internal voltage regulator and one with an external and then a third. Anyway, I’m hoping these photos can hep identify which one mine is, as I’d like to get it back on the road before winter. It’s a NipponDenso Bosch reman, if that helps. Thanks!
