That is reassuring. I'm hoping to weigh mine before the next race in a week or so. Hoping for sub 2000 LB.

All the polycarbonate is in! I'll add sliders to the front windows eventually. I re-used the window seals for the front two sets. The fronts are riveted on at the base. For the twin wall stuff I used machine screws and washers to not crush the edge. Then threadlocked the nuts. I also sealed the open sells to keep dirt out.

I finally weighed the car. It came in at 1985 lb with half a tank of fuel. Over the last few months I built adjustable struts for the front with aw11 strut inserts and adjustable caster plates. I also added power steering and tuned the cam timing for a little more lower end power. (The engine is making good power from 4300 on). I finished replacing all the bushing with polyurethane. All this made a HUGE difference and the car felt great at the race yesterday. VERY happy with the results! I'll post photos of the build process later.

I think all of the subarus in the first heat broke and didn't make it to the second heat. But I was ahead anyways ;) Having a durable car that can survive the course is definetely part of winning. And the toyotas haven't let us down yet! Fingers crossed.

congratulations! first place in modfied AWD, in a 35 year old econo box Tercel4wd!

Nice work! it is really exciting to see that the lowly TErcel4wd can still be competitive against the newer and much more expensive cars. We all know it is a good car, but this is really proof that no one can really beat the Tercel4wd when prepared well and ran with skill and precision.

Thanks, Petros. It's been a lot of fun building the car and i'm glad the work is paying off. The exciting part is that I'm still getting used to it with all the changes. I think my times can be a lot faster. Here are some photos of it in action.
