Head gasket question

So I'm swapping the head in my 83 tercel wagon I just bought because the original one is way warped had it checked at the machine shop no saving it shes like 14 thousands out of shape friend Luke is gonna hook me up with one but he mentioned there's a mod to the gasket to help keep the head cooler I was curious to what that mod is while I wait for the head to get here figured it can't hurt thanks

From the Repair Guides section, here is a good explanation. I didn't complete the marble/sanding process, but used the rest. Near 20K on the rebuild and all is well.

I would also advise you to have the exhaust valves replaced with new ones, as well as the stem steals, both are cheap and worth doing. you need to resurface the top of the block so it is smooth, it is done by hand, procedure is shown in the thread above.

None of the pictures show which would be helpful to I'm not sure where to put this extra port in the gasket
