1983 Original owner rebuild completion.

Post by Toyodaa »

I have used this forum to help compete a restoration of a purchase I made January 1983. The car was last driven in 2003. A lot of surface rust and brake and fuel repairs. It drives and runs just like the day I drove it off the show room at McGeorge Toyota, Richmond,Va.1983.
Attached are some pics.

I love that color, though the pic appears orangish on my phone, I assume it is yellow?

It is pretty close to the original paint code. It is Sunflower Yellow.

that is just awesome! welcome to the forum.

Looks great. though it also appears both brighter and on the orange side of yellow on my work station monitor (though it may be the way it was photographed too). that is okay, the original pale yellow is kind of boring. I have an '84 that yellow color and was thinking of doing a custom paint job closer to that, a little more bold yellow, with perhaps some burnt orange strips and highlights on the front grill and soda dispenser license frame in the rear.

do you have it road worthy? have you rebuilt the mechanical and drive train yet? how many miles are on it?

that should be worth a fair amount on the classic vehicles market.

I have gone through all the mechanical, new brakes complete, fuel tank, gas lines and brake lines and hoses. I have put about 800 miles on the car sine August 2019. I have complete all re-make of the interior, everything working including the sunroof. The car has 379800 original miles. I put a motor in
at 275,000. It drives and runs just like the day I bought it new. I will post some interior pictures.

Beautiful rebuild man. These belong on the road and not the scrapyard. Enjoy that T4WD!

Wow, beautiful. And even after all those miles.

Was the car stored in a garage all its life, including from 2003 till you started rebuilding it?
