we are all a go for Aug 10th at our place near Arlington. but it appears there is only two coming.

Abletobecain, you are welcome to come Friday evening. you can either camp out, or sleep in our guest house (it is empty, so you will need an air matress and a sleeping bag). I was thinking a BBQ would be good for Saturday afternoon after a drive around the area. Some good back roads around Darrington/Barlow pass, or we can go to Marble mount to North Cascades national park (no entrance fee).

Professor: you want to arrive Saturday morning around 9 or 9:30?

Anyone elss want to joint us, you are invited: let me know I will send you my address.

I can PM both of you my address.

My apologies but I thought this weekend was no good for you, Petros. I made plans with a friend to replace the entire front end in my offroad rig tomorrow. Turns out I wouldn't be able to trail ride anyway as my offroad rig had been sitting a while waiting on a new CV axle and seal. I got it in last weekend and while I was doing an ATF flush I noticed some nasty clunks...one tierod is bad for sure and maybe strut mounts too so I'm swapping everything out tomorrow.

Your last post was either was okay with you. the Professor was only good this weekend.

Yea, I must have misunderstood. Lets definitely reschedule. I got most of my front end replaced and lift finished yesterday. An inner tie rod and cv axles today and I'll be good to go for trail rides.

Peter, Professor, Able, Terbo and others,

I envy the higher density of Tercel owners in the PNW, hope to visit in the future. While coordinating a meet/greet takes some effort, I have found it very worthwhile. In the two prior weekends I managed to meet three fellow board members. It was most enjoyable to off-road with a fellow Tercel! Beyond just getting to know one another and being available for Tercel support/motivation, there also exists the opportunity for benefits outside of the Tercel world. On Monday I visited Kansas State University with my younger son and it just so happens a fellow member is employed there. Better yet, he manages a wonderful lab space in my son’s field of interest and we got a private tour. Getting to check out his fantastic Tercs was great as well.

I am going to “organize” a meet/greet for the fall of 2020’ for us Midwest members (and anyone who wants to roadtrip!!) and hope to incorporate enough notice, advertisement, off road activities and accommodation information to maximize turn out.

I share this to encourage you all in getting together. All of us live busy lives and have other interests, but sometimes we need to treat ourselves to a fun day or two with other folks (and our cars). I’ve met four fellow members and have yet to regret a meeting, all were worthy of my time and I thank them for making time for me.

Chris

PS - More on the car side, getting to ride in a supercharged 3a Tercel and drive a fellow members automatic Tercel provides new incites. The spunky 3a was very fun and after driving an automatic, I will be less likely to dismiss them in the future. They are just as much Tercel as the M/T cars and I can certainly see owning one in the future (but don’t tell my wife 😝).
Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart"

In remembrance of my friend ARCHINSTL:

"Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' Let us go and make our visit."
T.S. Eliot - "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"

"Now and then we had a hope that, if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates."

I'm busy the next couple weekends, but beyond that I have time to meet up for a mini car show and lunch somewhere? Maybe a drive?
