Why can't people just check to see that its not a 22r? Probably the most common error I see when perusing used tercels.

Anyhow this beast has some ridiculous tires. I like it.

Oh my lord! Those tires are crazy! I wonder how much slower that makes it?

way to sell a beater, insult your potential customers: "The prefect ride for all you dirt bags! "
and "I call her the stink bug".
Not nice. but only $500.

Re: "Kootney Cadillac"
Upon closer inspection, those tires aren't actually on the car, they are just rolled in front.
If it doesn't sell by the summer I might have to have a look.

I think you're right about just setting them there. He did trim those front fenders though.
I sent him an email asking about the tires and engine performance under a load like that and also asking about if he did a 22r swap but I haven't heard anything yet.

Re: "Kootney Cadillac"
Ad says "High and low range and g gear." Between that, the 22r thing, the tires rolled in front of the actual tires, and the "I should be asking $3000 but I'll sell it for $500" line, this ad is setting off all kinds of alarm bells for me. I mean besides the car just being beat to hell, of course.

Sale is pending as we speak. Hopefully its new owner knows the difference between a 1.5 litre engine and a 2.4 litre.dlb wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 9:37 am Ad says "High and low range and g gear." Re: "Kootney Cadillac"
wonder if they guy is just flipping it without knowing anything about it. clearly the seller knows nothing about the car, appears completely ignorant about the engine, the 4wd system, tires, and who knows what else.
reminds me about the first Tercel4wd I bought for $150. he only owned it a few weeks and manged to crunch the front and the rear, smashing the back window in the process. So he was unloading it cheap, it was running and derivable, but looked bad (I just needed cheap transpiration fast). he was proud that he got a spare for it since it had none when he got it (he lifted the rear carpet to show me it had a spare). it had the wrong bolt patter on it, it would not even bolt on to the car.

Re: "Kootney Cadillac"
Tercels are easy to sell in this part of the country, in fact any old toyota with 4wd goes pretty quick. They would be ideal candidates for flipping. Prices balloon because of it.Petros wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 9:37 pm wonder if they guy is just flipping it without knowing anything about it. clearly the seller knows nothing about the car, appears completely ignorant about the engine, the 4wd system, tires, and who knows what else.

For example, a clean 3rd gen 4runner for $2500 in Ontario would go for $7000 here. It's madness.
