Did you find a fender? There's an 83 sr5 in the yard I go to often...it's light blue. I'm in WA though...

I did receive one from Washington but it was a dlx fender. I haven't gotten around to fixing up the car yet because the insurance company is poking ass, but I would say I would definitely be interested. I'd just have to wait for them to pay out, which should be towards the end of this week I hope.

Seen you mention you had an extra steering column cover in another thread, I'd be interested in that too if your willing to let go of that.

I don't think anyone is pulling the fender anytime soon so just let me know when you want it.

The column cover is brown, non-tilt...$25 plus shipping? I'd be interested in trades too if you happen to have any black interior components.

Awesome, I will be sure to let you know when the time comes. I am definitely interested in the column cover and I have zero black parts, my interior is tan with the plaid pattern. The only excess parts I have are an alternator, a head, shift knob. Not much of anything anymore really.

Right on...I'll snap a few pics of the column cover this evening and post them so you can be sure you want it.

I know I'm new here so if you do want it, how about PM me your address, I'll box it up and ship it to you, and you can Paypal me when you receive it?

the only difference in the SR5 fender and the DLX is the short plastic trim piece, you should be able to swap that over from your wrecked fender to the replacement one.

I thought the same. The only differnece is there's no holes in the dlx fender for the trim to push into, and I don't really trust myself on drilling holes because I can't take measurements off my crushed fender to get the trim to line up perfectly.

I just ran into this on my 86 SR5. It's missing the rear passenger side molding with the SR5 logo. I pulled the piece off of the 83 SR5 car in the yard. However, the 83 has little plastic mounting tabs that pop into the door but the 86 does not have holes in the door for these tabs.

Has anyone else run into this? I'm thinking I just slide the plastic mounting pieces out of the trim and use some sort of glue for the 86 instead?

Turns out my memory fooled me, or the brown dust fooled my memory...either way the column cover is more of a grey than a brown. It's in perfect shape though, just needs a wash...perhaps it could be painted? Let me know if you still want it.

good weather proof polyurethane glue should work, or you can buy double sided foam tape at the autoparts stores and tape it in place. the '88 T4wd uses stick on trim rather than the clips through holes in the body metal.

No drilling required.

Just wanted to ask here as to not create another thread.

Has anyone else had to file an insurance claim on their cars here? How long did the claim take?
Yesterday marked 4 months to the day since I started my claim. I did send a snooty email to the lady who was handling my claim today because it seems to be taking far too long to get everything situated. She proceeds to tell me if I didn't like how long the claim process is, then I should have just used my own insurance company. How the hell does that make any sense? It only seems that when I email here to ask how far along we are in the claims process, she got on the ball and forwards me the paperwork. If I didn't email her today, who knows how long it would have taken for her to reply

Yeah, that can be really annoying. I had a truck totaled by a sideswipe once. Filed a claim and was told that the car was "stolen" by the owner's nephew and that I wouldn't be paid anything. Maybe six months went by, I had already wrote it off, and they miraculously mailed me a check for well more than the thing was worth. It was right before Christmas too so that was rad.

One thought would be to get your insurance company after them...might speed things up.
