Nice bumper! If you don't paint it it will match your hatch lol

Looks good! Great welds for a beginner too. What machine were you working with?

Don't forget a receiver hitch tube. While my friend was using the bumper I made, it just got an old hitch tongue welded on. Worked fine, but it's nice to get it out of the way. His inflicted much damage since he was putting on tons of mile with new blizzak's on. I think he said he got hit 5-6 times with most not driving away due to a nasty puncture wound. T4 bumper/car nearly unscathed! Lots of different things to plug in to a receiver, or since you can, make your own.

Until your Tercel 4wd emblem falls off and reveals a hole half as big, don't brag about rust!

I can't really tell from that pic, but if the rest of your car is a light green that it appears to be, I have a hatch of the same color that belongs to a car that no longer needs it

It's a sparkle nickel silver color (I painted it,) but anything rust free would do the trick.. where are you located??

Tack welds before finish welding can help keep the heat drift down.

I always thought it would be pretty great to make a swing-away spare holder that mounts off of a custom bumper, that way the hollow for the spare can be filled with ice and tasty beverages!

I am still looking at ways to integrate a tire carrier without being a roofbasket. I can't fit a spare in my floor anymore :(
The carrier would have to be easily removable too, as I am constantly in my hatch since I surf almost every day. Throwing boards in and out and changing into/out of wetsuit in tight street parking. Would be awesome to use the spare tire bucket for tools, parts storage, and/or a place for wet surf gear.
Perhaps incorporate hinges that come apart relatively easily without compromising durability?

Or weld a tire carrier on the front bumper.

even a brick will have less aerodynamic drag than a brick with a tire on top of it.
