Snowplow...CHECK!

Post by Folian »

I’ve wanted a snowplow ever since we got a freak-snowstorm a few years back.
So a few months ago i found the ideal snowplow to mount to the car.

Its a 150cm wide atv plow made in poland.

Some simple mods and it was mounted.
Height is controlled with the winch and boy it works flawlessly!

Those always looks so awsome on a Tercel4wd. There have been more than a few snow plows shown on Tercel4wds in this forum. seems like it would be useful, but I think it is the kind of thing that only in rare circumstances you wish you had one. In reality, it is not needed that often, but even when you do, you will find the utility limited. Most that have tired them did not feel they were useful, not enough weight and power to push much. I was offered one for free once, considered it but it was in Nevada, and the more I thought about it, decided I did not need it.

be careful if you ever have to use it, you could blow your trans up in the process. the car is very light and will not be able to push much around. So if the snow falls, get out there and clear it when it is not too deep, and still soft. Use only in EL gear, go slow, and be careful you do not hang up on rocks, gravel or irregularities on the road surface.

We’ll i don’t think anyone would expect it to brake through much. Its an atv plow after all.
But for me it does the job just fine. I have a long and narrow driveway and this saves me 2hours of shoveling so i’m happy.

It’s a bit more elegant than last years effort that i built out of some scrap pieces of wood i had lying around. :)

Where are you located Folian? I notice your car has headlight washers and amber turn signals in place of side lights on the european cars.

Would love more info on your car. what is your winch set up like? how big of tires can you run with those awesome flares?

i am literally about to do the same to my tercel with some ebay flares.

Jimcrazy, What a beast! :)

I can see how that thing would have an easier time handling ice than mine.

Folian or Jimcrazy, can you post pictures of more details of the plow mounting brackets, etc. Thinking of turning one of my parts cars into a plow because my plow guy is no longer reliable.
