I would love to have one car as a daily driver (just to drive and mess around, you know, donuts, drifting, etc) and another car to hook up (custom interior, system, etc.) which i'd take out like on the weekends or late night cuz you know it'd have nice cold cathode and neon lights :) Pretty much my daily driver, i'd put just enough money in it for it to run, like tires, etc. The other car would be more for show mostly. It'd make it easier to work on either car since you could leave it in your garage and still have something to take you where u need to go.

I dunno, that's double the costs too. I'd love to get a civic hybrid or a toyota prius and make it look nice (lighting, interior, sound system, etc). I'd go for performance, like turbos etc in some other car, but you lose mpg, and the kits are so expensive, you'd be spending thousands. Then i'd never take it out for fear of messing it up lol. I like the hybrid cars cuz they're quiet and fuel efficient, so you won't feel so bad if you have to step on the gas (or gas-electric pedal) lol :P

We've got 4 cars, a truck, and an SUV in our driveway, 3 Honda cruisers in the garage, and a Yamaha cruiser in the garage. The truck is our souped up pyscho-beastie. 500 horsies and 1200 ft/lb of torque is just a lot of fun hehehe

One Tercel and One restored 1958 Lambretta series 2 motor scooter with electronic ignition and 12v lighting for innercity work which does about 100mpg. (dodgy metric conversion)

Also a mountain bike for anywhere the Turtle doesn't want to take me!

I've got two...I need the OTHER CAR to go after the parts to fix THE ONE THAT HAS PROBLEMS......then later the OTHER CAR becomes THE ONE THAT HAS PROBLEMS......I then drive THE ONE THAT HAD PROBLEMS (hereafter & for a short while known as the OTHER CAR) to get parts for THE ONE THAT NOW HAS PROBLEMS.......and so on........

I recently sold my pride and joy: A modified 87 Corolla GTS Coupe. I had a hybrid 4agze in it at one point. It was quite a quick car.

I now only own a Tercel :( . But I must admit I am having fun with it albeit a different fun than a sports car. B)

What kind of work do you people do that you can afford to have so many vehicles?

Maybe I'm just too young to have collected much....helps when you are in a rural area and have room to park lots of vehicles too I guess.

LOL. Yeah, helps to have 5 acres and a large driveway space. Well, it has added up over a while. Lets see. Camper, boat, 03 Magna, Geo, and Excursion were bought new.
Geo was about $8000, so not much. Most expensive thing is the Ex running in at a hefty 60k. The tercs both cost $400 (one on side of house was $450 when it was good and running) Passat was bought with 50k miles @ roughly $12000 back in 01. The dead terc was bought in.. I think 99. Other two last year. Rebel and Magna's bought last year as well. We've had the Yamaha for 10 years now. It helps when you buy reliable, lasting vehicles, and yes that includes the Geo and Ford.
A Geo will treat you right if you treat it right. But if you foul up... Well, I'll put it this way. Rolling 150 feet down a 3 degree hill into a 1.5 inch diameter tree caused $1200 in damage. The Ford's have yet to cause us any issues, but for the blown oil o-ring on the Ex last year and the tranny wearing out early this year on the truck. But hey, truck was justified. That much power and the stock tranny at 90k miles? Automatics just don't last long in those situations >.<

I have 5 mopeds in addition to the tercel, one of which runs. I got along with just a moped for a few years, even going long distances with it. It's today's fast paced work society that forces me to drive my 100 lb self along a jammed up highway with 2400 lb of steel, every day. I would rather use the moped.

2400lbs is really light as far as vehicles go these days! Especially for a 4wd!
