Post by mrdance123 »

In desperate need of a 'brake proportioning' valve,
somebody who can rebuild or refurbish the valve,
and or a Corolla forum for reference.
Thank you everyone

mrdance,

Do I have you on the Tercel Owners map, I don't see anybody in Northern CA. It looks like two possibilities depending on engine, however one of the sources shows the same price (and likely part) for both applications.

1983 Toyota Corolla Brake Proportioning Valve Part Number: 47190-22040
VALVE ASSY, PROPORTIONING & BY-PASS

Discontinued

Vehicle Specific
Fits the following 1983 Toyota Corolla Submodels:

DX, SR5, STD | 4 Cyl 1.6L | 4AC; 4AC; AE71, AE86

1983 Toyota Corolla Brake Proportioning Valve Part Number: 47190-14020
VALVE ASSY, PROPORTIONING & BY-PASS

Discontinued

Vehicle Specific
Fits the following 1983 Toyota Corolla Submodels:

DX, SR5, STD | 4 Cyl 1.8L | 3TC; 3TC; TE72

Here is the internet supplier that shows the same price for both part numbers:

Here is an ebay seller that list one that matches the 47190-14020 part (apparently used on Land Cruisers as well)

I hope this helps.

Chris

PS - Amazon showed them as well, but at over $300 !

Thanks Chris!

Would you have a link to 'tercel owners map' ? I am near Portland OR.

Links you shared led the way to find this cross reference site:
https://www.toyodiy.com

I found a '84 Cressida at picknpull locally, containing the same proportioning valve as my (sister's) '83 Corolla wagon.
Does it work...? I'll find out soon after it stops raining.

This might be a good forum for info on older Corolla's: https://4ac-powered.forumotion.com/

I used to use that forum when I had a 4ac in my first T4, and it was a very good forum then. Similar to this one, lots of dedicated and helpful people there. I haven't been there in 10 years though so I'm not sure what it's like now.
