Undecided.

Post by BaileySims »

So here's a question I never really wanted to ask.
How much is my car worth, or how much can I sell it for? I think it's time for me to retire out of my short lived tercel lifestyle and get something a bit more modern and of course faster.

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine in my truck and will start using that as a daily until I can find something else I would like to purchase.

I'm just quite undecided on what I ultimately want to do with the wagon. I love it, there's nothing wrong with it, but it's just not for me anymore in don't think.

If you're on the fence at all or not eager to sell, price it high. Then if someone bites, it will be too good to pass up. It's like when trades people come up with estimates for jobs: if there's a job they don't really want to do, they'll price it really high so that they either don't get the job, and if they do, it's well worth their time.

the T4wd will bring a much higher price in colorado, idaho (perhaps montana), Orgegon and Washington. In pugets sound area around Seattle, and good running clean T4wd (even if not perfect) will bring $3000-4000.

In texas, and most of the mid west, not so much. Unless you get lucky and find a real enthusiast who appreciates the fine work you have done on it.

AS DLB writes, set the price high there, if it sells, great. if not, drive it here, get a good price for it, and than fly back. You will be money ahead, and likely sell to someone that will love it (rather than a parent buying a beater for their teenager to drive). Come here and I will taking you up Mt. Rainier, or on a sea kayak adventure while you are here if you want. we even has a guest room for you to stay in if you want, and I can introduce you to the Tercel4wd locals.

List it on CL, and even ebay! People search nationwide for good Tercels.

if you want more power you can always shoe horn in a 176 hp 20 valve 4AGE, Larry McGrath did that.

I'm waiting to break in my truck. I rebuilt the motor for no reason and have to figure all this out now. Haha. I think I do but can't remember which threads, I'll post an edit when I find them and I just seen them, they look pretty damn sweet! They are indeed 15x7 +38 rotas. I believe the tire size is 195/50 15.

For no reason, lol. Reason is we love projects right?! Mine are on 195/45/15s right now but I'm gonna go bigger when they wear out. Your 55's were only an issue when lowered eh? What do you think would fit if I keep stock front height and have my MA700s in the back at 50 psi? 60 series? 65? Your wheels look dope close up btw. Did you shave the caliper just because of how the wheels fit? Cause of the offset? Idk what my offset is on the new wheels but they feel great...no rubbing or anything. If I had to shave my caliper too I'd definitely notice/feel/hear something right? Just read your whole thread...that air ride is dope...so sick it's on remote. Looks like I've got more upgrades to do to mine now. Thanks a lot! haha.

Sorry for all the questions...one more though...meant to ask you what speakers you ran in the dash? Just 4s or did you modify it to go to something bigger?

Turns out there's something called spark knock, which I didn't know. Rebuilt the whole damn motor only to start it and have it knock again. Magically went away with a quick nudge of the distributor. Hahaha.

Correct, the plan was to not have the tire rub when aired fully out, but they do in the front anyway. Can't drive around like that so it doesn't matter to me. If it's stock height or higher with the ma700s I'm sure 60 or 65 would fit well, I just dig the smaller tire look on lowered cars.

I had to shave the caliper a bit upon installation of the wheel which did not spin too well. I was super excited putting them on only to find out that they spun a few inches before it got stuck on the caliper.

Thanks! I'd figure i would jump the gun on doing it because I was asking around for awhile and no one understood fully what I wanted to do with the suspension. Can't really compare the stock setup to the air ride though. Took it off road once and broke a slew of parts then immidiately changed over to air ride. Haha. Now it's just a street machine.

If I can remember correctly, I want to say I have some pioneer 4.5s in there. They bolted up, but I think I had to nip off a piece of the mount to get it in there. I have the car sitting in the garage now, I'll have to take a look around at it again for ya.

Edit. I lied. It's a pair of kenwood kfc-1077's. They are 4 inch speakers.

What car are you possibly picking up tomorrow? I'm always curious to see where t4 owners go from here.
