Curious: Why would the ECU burn up capacitors in his setup? Is it because of the high revs?
No, I'm not thinking of doing this. 62 hp (minus auto trans losses) is plenty for me.

Beautifully written piece of gonzo journalism.
Hell of a way to warm up your sake.
It takes more fossil fuel resources to produce new vehicles than it would take to maintain and fuel any 70's or 80's vehicle for a million miles.

I was wondering about the ECU failures as well, I suspect they were after market "performance" units. He should just use a factory ECU for daily driving, and swap to his "performance" unit for the car shows.

If that engine could fit safely in the engine bay, it sure would be cool! :) However, I am interested in copying or expanding off of Hornbeam's idea of an EFI Terc. Just haven't the funds now as I am now unemployed and applying for Social Security.
