Winch advice

Post by shambug »

So I've got my trusty cum-a-long, who's never let tercely down, its just takes so long to set up and if I need to move more then a few feet ive got to set it up multiple times. I plan on building a metal tube bumper and installing the winch to that. It seems winch's come in 2 sizes, way to small for atvs or way to big for giant trucks. Whats the minimum weight ratting I could get away?

Nice half the work done for me. I never even considered building it into the original bumper thats genius.

The wagons weigh less than 2500 lb as I remember. I always figure double the vehicle weight when considering winch size. I would say 4500 to 5000lb rated winch for our vehicles. 8000lb seems like it would be too large for the wagon.
