Look What I Found In P'up's Washer Reservoir

Post by ARCHINSTL »

So the Dodge/Mitsu p-sup's reservoir ran dry a while back and I filled it.
Recently, I tried to squirt the windshield - the pump whirred, but nothing happened.
This has been going on for a few weeks and today I finally worked on it.
I figured that the line was clogged - no.
The cap was on tight.
Then I thought there was some crud in the bottom of the reservoir blocking the pump, so I emptied it out, saving the new fluid I'd installed. It came out pretty dark and kinda yucky.
I looked inside... (see the photos)...

I had noted the cap had popped off for ? reason when I filled it.
So, naturally not looking inside, I filled it and resealed the cap.
I guess I drowned them? This was a couple of months ago.
Since they were not decayed and were still - umm - pliable...I guess the alcohol in the fluid kept them preserved?

Can anyone top this? I did NOT make this up!
And the pump works just fine now.

I think you need to patent and market that invention Tom. Very clever trap.

that's really strange. why did three rats climb in your windshield washer fluid and die? i'm guessing there was something sweet in it that attracted them, they opened the lid, climbed in and started drinking, died from poisoning or got weak from poisoning and drowned, and then got shut in when you noticed the lid was off. boy oh boy, that's weird though.

Mice! Mice! Mice! NOT rats!
I think David's explanation is the most likely.

Buck had a big hole in the washer reservoir and leaves and stuff down there. Replaced it today, and turns out under those leaves were an inch or so of rat droppings
