Heater adjustments...from Bentley manual

Post by takza »

These are 3 scans from the 83-84 Bentley manual for the Tercel...showing how to remove the heater control panel and how to adjust the heater cables.

If your heater controls are difficult to move or you are not getting good heat or heat at the right places...it's a good idea to pull the panel...grease and oil all pivots and cables and adjust the cables that operate the doors and the heater control valve.

All you really need is access to the back of the panel in order to grease and oil it...not to disconnect a bunch of stuff.

The right side of the 1st graphic tells how to do this....paragraphs 8 and 9.

The last graphic tells how to adjust the cables.

These are pretty big files...could be reduced in size if needed.

This is excellent information. Where can I get a Bentley manual? Seems to have better detail than the FSM.

The Bentley manual is supposed to be the equal of some FSMs. Not sure what vehicles they cover(ed).

Sometimes the FSM is better...sometimes Bentley...those particular pages in the Bentley manual seem pretty obtuse to me...but beats no info I guess.
