Thanks, Tom.

I wanted to use a sewing machine, but since I have no idea how to use one I'm fairly well convinced that sewing by hand was actually faster for me. It took me a long time to complete this project, but it was totally worth it. I followed your advice and used copious amounts of "Amazing Goop" to seal up the little 4WD shifter boot thingy.

Regardless of whether anyone decides to follow suit and update their boots like this, I highly recommend taking your center consoles off to vacuum under them. I found about 10 cigarettes, some chapstick that expired in 1990 a few nickles and A LOT of dirt and hair:)

I really need to do this. Thinkin it might be worth the effort to make an E-bake cover too. Matching set of three.

Great write up and motivational tool.

you know i really need to start reading the forums more....i spent the better part of the day yesterday taking mine apart and getting all excited to make patterns and the like. I was a bit stymied at the 4WD boot so am thankful this got bumped but I had to laugh at the the timing of this thread getting bumped.

BTW, i am an indecisive dweeb and bought lime green vinyl, black with silver glitter and a very cool silvery slinky purple fabric that my wife and I willl back first. We'll see which one makes it through to production!

Am I the only one who can’t see the diagrams anymore ? Have the pictures expired or do I have a bad connection? I have a friend who is a seamstress and she is going to make some for me and I’ll ask her if she would make some for you guys if you like?

@ T4WDgambler: See 3 PM's. A PM apparently cannot contain more that one .jpg, whence 3 PM's.
Incidentally, the original photos opened OK for me.
