I would like more info on the Tacoma brakes if you would not mind. What parts and how difficult is it? I have tried the search function but am coming up with nothing. Am I missing something?

Sounds like the front Paseo brakes are a direct swap to the tercel.

Thanks,

Calvin

Anyone have info on the Tacoma setup? My brakes are not up to the challenges of my driving. I deliver a daily paper and the Tercel is having SERIOUS brake fade by the end of it. I would like to upgrade where possible to something a little more stout.

Thanks,

Calvin

Buy a pair of NEW cheap Chinese rotors and some good quality pads?

I use Advance Auto Gold series and she stops as fast as I can stand.

Look for some advertised as NON-FADING.

Also...check your rear brakes...at least 1/3 of your stopping power comes from the back? Might have oil in them?

Thank you for the ideas. I am finding that it may be the rear that is causing most of the issues. Getting real hot, it seems I may have at least one side dragging.

Thanks again,

What years of either did you use Shogun? I'm worried about the whole 95-96 conflict with the Paseo.... Dunno what the differences in disk, caliper, etc are? Enlighten us if you can please? My brakes are getting dangerously thin and I want to do the better brake conversion rather than stock.

well i dont know which year the tacoma brakes were, they are 11 inches, also i used 4 piston calipers from the 4wd version, you will need to change the main brake pump to a bigger one, perhaps a 22r one, pads can be found oem or trd, lines are the same, that took a lot of fabrication re drilling of the discs, and custom making brackets for the calliper, also 15 inch wheels are a must and spacrers may be needed

if i get a hold of those parts again ill do the swap again, since im going turbo this time the way its suposed to be
