This is my ride, I just put the wheels on, and i am still working on making the interior looking like new...
... the interior is the blue burburry, I made a new shift boot to match, very nice, I am still trying to figure out how to mount a new small shift boot for the 4WD shifter, and also the measurments for the E-brake handle... any ideas on the 4WD shifter would be great...
Tell me what you think about my ride,

Good looking wagon, Joel ! Looks to be rust free in the pics. I took a shifter boot out of a Mazda MX3 at the junkyard and put it in mine, on the transmission shifter. Haven't tried anything on the 4WD shifter yet. My wagon is dirt colored.....like the white a lot, though ! Are those 13's or 14's ??

Thanks, the funny thing about the paint though is it originally was silver instead of white, and the blue was blue, but who ever painted it painted over the pinstripes instead of peeling them. other then that and the fact the blue needs redone the outside is great...

Yeah I have exp. sewing so it was just easier to take the measurments and sew it up rather then try and find one i good condition, considering my salvage yard options are very limited, i have like 3 to choose from, and one doesn't even have a Tercel in the lot, and the one that does charges ridiculous amounts and they still want you to pull the part yourself. In Kansas CIty, there is a place called U-wrench it, you have to bring your tools and pull the parts you need, with that though everything is dirt cheap, like they have specials where you fill up your wheelbarrow with as much as you can and its a set price... awesome place.

the wheels are actually 15" with 205/5015's, i had them on my escort but i am turning that into a road course racer...

Thanks,
Joel

Looks good with 15's. Is the back loaded down or something? It looks like it's sagging a bit.

No actually if you look at the paint, the front wheel well arch is higher then the rear... so it makes it look lower... my boss asked the same thing...

Nice car.

I assume you've taken off the plastic trim that the shifter boots are mounted to? The shifter boot is stapled to these plastic pieces which are screwed to the big piece, and they just have to be stapled to the new leather when you make the boot. Is the 4WD shifter any different?

Actually my shift boot is held in place with a metal ring. no screws, or staples, so it was extremly easy to install, as for the 4wd shifter, it is quite different, the shifter was mounted on these plastic posts, then a metal ring installed then the melted down the post so the aren't screwed on or stapled, so for that i am sorta SOL untill i can figure some thing out. actually i don't think it even has a metal ring. now that i think about it i can't remember what holds it in other then the melted tabs...

I'm thinking of replacing my shift boots with neoprene (wetsuit material). I've noticed a lot of modern cars (Nissan X-trail) etc have this finish on the interior. as it's a flexible elasticated material. I should be able to get quiet a tight fit

Does anyone have any other shift boot replacement options? Do any of the leather shift boots from AutoZone and NAPA work?
