That IS pretty cool! Though as the article states, there already was the Celica All-trac.

that guy does not know what he is talking about, the 4age is NOT a variation of the 22R engine, and the Tercel4wd trans will not fit into the corolla without rasing the engine about 6", which means it puts the engine too high, above the hood. it would not be practical to lower the trans, it would hang down to just above the road surface.

foolish fantasy, there is no practical way to accomplish the proposed set up. it would be easier to just slap a Celica body onto a 4wd truck frame, it would be ugly, but could be made to work.
