Welcome to Tercel4wd.com! I hope to finish with a similar paint job on my “good” tercel in the future, I haven’t even started that project.

Hah, that French rig is dope!

I honestly haven't done anything to this rig yet, it was given to me in the state pictured and it needs a LOT of love.
I just started rebuilding the front end and need some help choosing parts.

So far I have ordered:

Timken wheel bearings for all 4 wheels
Superpro Front Sway Bar Bushings and Front Lower Control Arm Bushings

Need some assistance with the front suspension though.

I found the KYB 363037 shocks but I was hoping to lift the front end an inch or two to match the rear, any suggestions?
How about spring and strut replacements? Is there a strut kit from another car that fits? Thanks for your time!

Here are some more pics :)

Iggzmon,

I swapped to Moog 81043 springs in front and stayed with stock struts, love it. I run the Pathfinder springs on the rear and have approximately 2” lift or so over stock.

easiest way to raise the front is put shims on top of the upper strut mount (requires longer mounting bolts). Some have used inexpensive HDPE cutting board from wal-mart to make the shim.

the more you raise it the faster your front CV joints will wear out, the larger angle will cause more wear with each revolution of the wheel. ideally longest CV joint life will occur when there is zero angle across the joint when in driving condition. a small amount of lift will not harm it much, but the higher you go the faster those front axles will need to be replaced.

spacing the engine, transmission and subframe is what is done on some of the Subarus (such as the professors) will also give you more body clearance and allow larger wheels which can give you more chance to get more clearance under the diffs

Igg,

I think the 81043 is pigtail vs stock square end, but no. I just installed them on the stock struts and bolted back on.
