Anybody here ever install factory cupholders in a M/T t4? Looks like they will fit. Got a set left over from my '87 "sex change" (A/T to M/T) conversion and would like to install them. (I know- people tell me i've got too much time on my hands...)

yes, dan installed the cupholders from an auto t4 into his manual. the link to his pic is broken now unfortunately but it sounds like a very straightforward swap. here's the link.

For some reason some t4's the shift handle 'lands' to close to the dash in 1st ,3rd and 5th and it will not work.
Not sure why it varies from car to car but it does

I have an '84 auto 4WD Tercel and there is no cup holder. Maybe later years had it. I use the box behind the e-brake for my cups.

Thanks guys. Did a dry fit last night, and the closest I can get the shift lever to the cup holder is 3/4". Maybe some people have clearance problems due to worn shift bushings??

Cupholders are nice they do have one downfall that's the spillage on to the car stereo
