dlb, i did see that, it's essentially a cross between the alltrac celica and the tercel 4wd. kind of neat!

as for the alltrac...i do own it now actually. decisions decisions...

very impressive, the AWD celica removes the single largest determent to the celica, the front wheel drive. Turbo also in on the deal, how much hp that engine put out?

nice ride man ST165s are great cars, they seam a lot less 'bloated' like the 5th gen Celicas (coming from a prev st184 GTS owner)

The 3sgte are great motors, I've fantasized about building a high boost 2.2 5SGTE MR2 one of these days

I love hard to find unique cars and that one fits the bill.
Is it in good shape? How about some more photos?

photos are coming, it's been quite a hectic past few weeks (prepping for toyotafest 2015 in LA, 4300km round trip!)

i've owned 3 previous gen4 celicas and this one is in immaculate shape. all stock, no mods, original bits in great shape, fully repainted back in 2006 (and only been driven for 500km since then, otherwise stored). the usual rust behind the oem bodykit pieces are non-existent on this car. the only catch is that it has a salvage title. for me, that means not-insurable or street legal. it just needs a few things to pass, new brakes, new flex section on exhaust, and a repair to the rear subframe.

stock it makes 190hp/190ft-lbs and although it is not as fast as my mr2 with bolt-on upgrades, launching off the line is quite astonishing.

it's like when you are driving around town in the T4, some kid in a non-vtec sohc civic pulls up beside you, you put it in 4wd and EL and scare the shit out of yourself.

gotto: thanks for the offer, however we will be sticking to the western half of california, last time we did just the I5 all the way from the Canadian border straight to LA, this time we're going to be closer to the coast passing by SF, maybe next year we'll go through nevada/utah/cross the rockies.

petros: oh my...thanks for that. now I know what wheels I want. OZ rally wheels in 16x8.25 as in the video on that alltrac! that 222D mr2 is insane!

that corolla looks great!

just some sad news to bring. the tercel has been sold now. it has gone to a younger girl who grew up with an 87 fwd hatch tercel and brought a friend mechanic that is in the local ae86 club here in vancouver.

to the forum: thank you so much for all of your input and advice. this forum is easily the quickest responding, friendliest, and welcoming forum i've ever been a part of.

sorry to hear it's over now but glad you managed to sell it, and were able to do so much work on it and keep it on the road for someone else to enjoy now.

yes. i'm really glad i took this car off of the previous owner's hands. the car was almost gray from the layers of abandoned filth, the motor was running pig rich and the brakes only worked at the bottom of the pedal travel. it should live to see 400k km's as long as the oil is topped up

entrax, i copied you and installed power locks in my ae95 yesterday. it took way longer than i anticipated, probably 6 or 7 hours, but turned out great. i'm really happy with it. thanks for the heads up on that mod.
