"Buck" or "Nightmare" or "Cranky"

Post by irowiki »

Don't know what we're naming the car yet. More inside pictures later.

No power steering which surprised me. No HAC either, even though it is a federal car.

Has the most power of any 3AC car I've ever driven. Tires needed rotated and balanced, now she is a lot more smooth. Inside is fairly dirty, lots of broken trim, but all fixable. Had the frame of a luggage cover, no carpet, with speaker holes cut into it.

Glad you both made it home safe and sound. The car looks to be in great shape. Are you keeping this one?

I vote Buck. or even better "bucky". Nightmare is not a very nice name, and so far it has not been that bad, just an annoyance. I have had to replace a head gasket on the road, and have replaced struts and strut mounts, transmissions, and cv axles on road trips, and hit a deer once that did a lot of damage, fixed it and still drove it 4000 miles home. I still would not call any of those "nightmare" trips, just a bit of bad luck. come-on, buck up! do not be such a winnie. Traveling cross country in a 30 year old car is not for sissys.

Suddenly Losing power in the middle of rush hour interstate traffic while in the middle of six lanes is what coined nightmare. It almost went really badly for us. So please don't assume I'm whining.

"nightmare" was brought up for a name option not as much for the trip but for the horse named after it. "Nightmare": a black horse with flaming mane/tail/hooves/etc. Since Paul was thinking Buck was too masculine for her.

Amusingly the baby calls this the "other car". So maybe we'll call it Other.

Though after recent events I'm thinking of calling it Murphy.
