My brother wants to try and swap an E engine from a 1990 tercel into his 1987 4wd.
Is this even feasable? The E is mounted sideways and the distributor sticks out what would be the back. Would engine mounts work out at all?
Possible to do E engine swap?

Besides the problems that you have mentioned, an E series engine will not bolt up to the bellhousing that is designed for the A series engine (ie. the one in the 4wd tercel). There will also be problems of EFI, exhaust, engine mounts, etc. It is possible to do these sorts of things with custom fabrication etc, but really not worth it for a crappy E engine (in my opinion anyhow). If the goal is more power, your bro' is better off considering installing a 4age from a rwd corolla gts. Still lots of work, but at least it'll bolt in.
