Fuel tank removal
Hello again, needed to repost this question. I'm wanting to know the correct procedure for removing and re-installing the fuel tank on a 1986 Tercel wagon?
Re: Fuel tank removal
FU-33 in the FSM shows the parts break out, I don’t know if there is a written procedure.
- Pre-soak bolts on the tank straps
- Near empty your tank
- Remove covers or shields
- Support the tank with a jack and larger piece of wood to distribute load
- Possibly may need to remove a few connection points to free the fuel lines so you can lower the tank w/o damaging them
- Remove tank straps
- Carefully lower tank
I’ve not removed the tank on a Tercel yet, but have worked on others.
