Next time use some Teflon tape on the drain plug's threads, no cure time on that.

I always goop up the oil plug threads with non-hardening gasket compound and install a homemade paper type gasket. Nevers leaks. This is a common problem with every tercel i have messed with. The plastic washers never worked. Copper only worked once in a while. The metal ones with imbedded rubber worked most of the time. The gasket compound/paper washer always works.
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
