That's what I've been trying to do, per your video on it. You're right, not much to grab on to. Does the transmission need to be in neutral or is that irrelevant?

I would do it in neutral. Might help a bit. Could be stuck to the pilot bearing but I have never encountered that. Might have to remove tranny with it in place, it's not that bad.
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
