4wd converted to fwd
4wd converted to fwd
Hey everybody this is Frozen in Alaska. I can't make an A55 automatic transmission into an A55F so can I put the A55 in the wagon, take off the driveshaft in back and make into a 2wd? (Temporarily). Thanks again!

Re: 4wd converted to fwd
yes, that has been done before. That is an easy swap.
you need to remove the drive shaft and carrier bearing all the way back to the rear diff. should not be difficult to remove, the rear flange has 4 bolts with nuts. save all the hardware, make sure you put a good match mark on diff flange and the end driveshaft flange so you can get it back on the correct way (a metal punch is a good way). sometimes they will not balance correctly if you put it on in different way, it could vibrate at speed.
