Rear axle input

Post by JDNightFox » Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:07 pm

It looks like the propeller to input shaft seal is leaking really bad on my rear axle

from other research it looks like this is going to be a PITA, so would an easier option be to swap the rear axle completely with an LSD that has 3.83 gears from an ae86 (I need to change the gears out anyway because of the front and rear having different gearing

the bolt pattern isn’t a big issue because I can just buy rims that have both 4x100 and 4x114 together

it would be easier to swap the differential only and that would be 3.73 (vs 3.8)
also there is a youtube video for replacing the seal
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
