i think its the fuel pump. but its only 6 months old
the car will go for a few days working just fine then out of the blue it dies and will not re-start for 6-12 hours
today it did it and i quickly poured a few tablespoons of gas in the carb
it fired right up and died
tried it again same result
so at least now i know its not getting gas
but could it be the fuel pump?
has anyone ever had this problem with a fuel pump?

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
Re: Have you had a fuel pump do this?
Had a similar problem years (decades?) ago with my long departed rusty '85 SR5. Wound up replacing the rusty steel feed line from the fuel tank to the fuel filter with a copper line- major PIA- but it worked. I'd suggest you install an aux. fuel tank (antifreeze bottle) full of gas under the hood to feed the fuel pump and see if that fixes the problem. Good Luck!
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
