Does anyone know if the cam and carb on an auto 4wd are different than the 5 speed?

i have found a few minor variations among tercel carbs. the differences have been in the # of vacuum ports and sizes of the jets. however, i'm not sure if these differences were due to auto/manual transmissions or year-to-year changes in emission controls. regardless, all tercel carbs cab be made to work if they are not quite the correct one.

not sure about the cam but i would wager money they're identical.

I seem to remember the auto trans cam had a different profile. It is not a lot different, so either one would work. the auto trans cars have a lower final drive ratio (since it only has a three speed trans) so the engine cruises at much higher rpms if I recall, which might be why the cam is different.

Interesting Peter, maybe I need to dig up the cam from Party's old engine and see if I can take measurements someday.
