Are you looking for one the same size as that block heater?
It takes more fossil fuel resources to produce new vehicles than it would take to maintain and fuel any 70's or 80's vehicle for a million miles.

Looks similar to this, http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... &ppt=C0076
says 1 - 1/2 inch, looks like its got a bung style plug structure - if so could you not just use a 1 - 1/2 inch bung plug?

I think you can most often get singles, homer depo has cheap ones, I suppose there are automotive grade ones too, but for quick results I'd say whatever you can find locally - though I know you have a summit racing store just a few miles from your place , so, its a run to a parts store one way or the other.

Rockauto has them in singles, or should!

I might be interested in that block heater if it is still good! It is for a tercel?

Usually you can't reuse a block heater after it has been installed in an engine. Unless that one is a different style, all the ones I have dealt with have rather flimsy tangs that get distorted once it has been torqued in place. I would never trust it to be reinstalled and a tang break and you lose all your coolant. Get a new one. They aren't that expensive and you would not have to worry.

It gets cold enough here in the winter that a block heater would really help my work commute.

Edit: ah that case, thanks for the info Marlene

You're right about the bent tang it would need to be pounded flat again before reuse a little sketchy.

but in a pinch you could always use it to heat up some tea

if you cover the surface of the block heater with RTV before you install it, likely it will work fine.

You can buy the freeze plugs at any autoparts stores, they are cheap. Autozone, Napa, etc all have good selections of both SAE and metric sizes, either measure your hole size, or take the block heater in with you and get one. I alway put a bead of sealant around the edge before I install it. It is not supposed to need it but sometimes you have pitting or corrosion that prevents a perfect seal, and the sealant takes care of that.

I used a Clevite plug kit. The sizes are 3x35MM and 1x40MM. The 40MM is a pain unless you remove the starter.
But...did you try hitting it with a hammer?
